MEMBERS, PARTNERS AND FRIENDS

Annual President's Changeover Dinner.

On 1st July 2020 Rotarian Geoff Bone accepted presidency of our club not knowing he would continue for another two years. During these three years members have completed several major community projects.

  1. Purchased from Harvey Norman Bairnsdale, Victoria and donated to residents much needed electrical appliances following the devastating fires in 2020.

  2. Purchased and distributed 9 Defibrillators to establishments and ferry operators along the Noosa river.

  3. Raised over $30,000 in relief funds for the residents affected by the Maryborough floods.

  4. Was instrumental in forming a partnership of Noosa area Rotary clubs including Cooroy and Eumundi to raise another $30,000 for the relief of Noosa and Gympie residents effected by the 2022 floods.

  5. We recently joined the Noosaville Business Association, a group of local businesses supporting and promoting a thriving business community. We hope to gain a better working arrangement from members that we can implement in our role of benefiting the community.

  6. A big move forward in the Noosa and Hinterland areas has been our five clubs working together to achieve amazing results. Headlining this has been the project "Don't Bottle it Up" to assist awareness to the crises of PTSD. Our five clubs have formed R4MH (Rotarian's For Mental Health) and is working together to implement ways to encourage individuals in need to seek help and realise there is a way to better health. We have organised a family day by the river, a conference introduced by former Governor General Sir Peter Cosgrove, conference video Flash Drives and we have in production Facebook and other Social Media.

Other highlights include the annual Noosa Buskers weekend and joining with our sister clubs in celebrating 7,500 students graduating the RYDA (Rotary Youth Driver Awareness) program.
